Q: What's the meaning of the Economic Corridor?
A: The idea of Economic Corridor was proposed in the eighth Ministerial Meeting of GMS in 1998. Aimed at facilitating GMS countries cooperation and exchanges via the combine of the build of Transportation Corridors and economic development.
There are three phases of the development of the Economic Corridor: build of Transportation Corridors, build of  Logistics Corridors and build of Economic Corridors.

Q: What does the GMS Economic Corridors covers?
A: According to the overall layout of the GMS transport network, the region currently includes three major economic corridors -- South-North Economic Corridor, East-West Economic Corridor  and South Economic Corridor.

South-North Economic Corridor:
a. Kunming- Yuxi- Pu'er- Xishuangbanna- South Province, Laos- Chiang Rai, Thailand- Chiang Mai- Bangkok
b. Kunming- Shilin- Mile- Kaiyuan- Mengzi- Hekou- Lao Cai, Vietnam- Yen Bai- Viet Tri- Vinh Yen- Hanoi- Haiphong
c. Kunming- Nanning- Hanoi

East-West Economic Corridor:
Danang, Vietnam- Middle Laos- North-east Thailand- Mawlamyine, Myanmar

South Economic Corridor:
a. Bangkok, Thailand- Phnom Penh, Cambodia- Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam- Vung Tau City
b. Bangkok, Thailand- Siem Reap Cambodia- Stung Treng- Ratanakiri- Pleiku, Vietnam- Qui Nhon
